John Lomon and Christine Njoki were crowned the inaugural EldoHub TechRun 10km champions at the race held on Sunday, December 1st, in Eldoret, Kenya’s renowned “City of Champions.” The event successfully blended the thrill of athletics with the power of technology, attracting both runners and tech enthusiasts alike.
Held in near-perfect weather conditions, with temperatures at a cool 12°C, 100% humidity, and a gentle 8 km/h breeze, the setting was ideal for peak performance. Lomon, representing North Rift, claimed the men’s 10km title with a remarkable time of 29 minutes, 19.9 seconds. Reflecting on his victory, Lomon, who had recently triumphed in the Athletics Kenya Third Cross Country Series, shared, “I’m fresh from an injury, but I was well-prepared for this race. Winning today shows there are good things ahead for me. I’m excited for January, when KipRun management has plans for me to race in France.”
