World 10,000m silver medalist Daniel Ebenyo Simiu and rising star Viola Chepng'eno emerged victorious in the senior 10km race at the fourth leg of the Athletics Kenya Cross Country series, held at the Bomet Airstrip on Saturday.
Ebenyo clocked 32:25.29 to secure first place, narrowly beating Edwin Bett of the Keringet Training Camp, who finished second in 32:33.73, and Peter Tuitoek of the Poror Training Camp, who took third in 32:54.05.
In the women’s 10km, 22-year-old Chepng'eno from the Keringet Training Camp dominated the race, crossing the finish line in 37:06.68. Sandrafelis Chebet finished second in 37:30.15, while Joyline Cherotich rounded out the podium in third with a time of 37:40.25.
