She was received by family members and friends and leaders with songs and dance, to celebrate Jepchirchir achievement during the 50th running New York city marathon.
Jepchirchir was very happy to have won her debut New York city marathon medal, in August she won her debut Olympic medal in Tokyo Japan.
Jepchirchir won the iconic marathon in a time of 2.22.39 beating her campatriot Viola lagat to second position ,while Ethiopian Ababel Yeshaneh was placed third.
The 28 -years -old Jepchirchir is the first athlete to win Olympic gold and the race in New York in the same year.
Former world half marathon record holder Jepchirchir continued to say that she was confident she was going to win because of her good preparation and prayers.
“I was sure of my training and my family prayers,I give thanks to God and those who prayed for me” Said Olympian Jepchirchir.
According to Jepchirchir she will take a break before preparing for next year season.
