Nicholas Kimeli wins Kapsowar 10km run |
Feliciana Jepkosgei and Nicholas Kimeli secured victories at the inaugural Moi Girl's High Kapsowar 10km Charity run today.
Kimeli braved the rugged course securing victory after a mouth-watering battle with Jacob Krop.
Kimeli finished in 28:04 minutes to win the race beating Krop and Kennedy Kimutai who timed 28:42 and 28:43 in second and third respectively.
Kimeli who placed fourth in 5,000m at the Tokyo Olympics said he was using the race to prepare for the cross country season.
He said he is focusing on representing Kenya at the World Cross Country Tour set for February in Eldoret.
Jepkosgei who trains in ElgeyoMarakwet won her first road race.
She clocked 32:42.30 for victory as Jesca Chelang'at who recently won Kisumu Heart Run places second in 32:49.19 and Brilliant Jepkorir finished third in 32:56:00.
"This was my first road race and I am very excited by the win."said Jepkosgei.
