Korir joins his brother Wesley as a Boston Marathon champion

Kenya's John Korir and Sharn Lokedi are the winners of 129th edition of  Boston marathon in historic times.

Korir overcame an early fall to win the race timing 2.04.45 to clinch the title, he said  it feels good to win in Boston since he wants to continue the legacy of  his family in Boston marathon. his brother Wesley Korir won in 2012 timing 2.12.

He also said that he is going to donate his fortunes to the Kenya kit to help underprivileges in the society especially what his brother has started at Transcended school to help young talented athletes to access education.

Korir added that his brother usually give him pieces of advice ,"believe in yourself'

Korir fall in the start of the race but that did not deter him to work hard and win the race.




Lokedi was much determined to win the women category ahead of defending champion Hellen Obiri who was eager for 3 peat .

Lokedi was very strong she destroyed the staller field to with a course record of  2.17.22 ahead of Obiri
