AK gives a stern warning on age cheating

Athletics Kenya has issued a stern warning to individuals involved in age cheating, emphasizing that strict actions will be taken against offenders. The warning came from Athletics Development Director Barnabas Korir, who spoke at the Eldoret Sports Club Grounds ahead of the National Cross Country Championships.

"Age cheating has been a persistent issue for years, and we will not allow it to continue," Korir stated. "Those found involved in age manipulation will face severe consequences, in line with IAU regulations, and will be treated the same as doping violations."

Korir further highlighted that the consequences would not only affect the athletes but also those who may assist them in such deceitful practices. "Parents and coaches found colluding with athletes in age cheating will be prosecuted as well. We are committed to preserving the integrity of the sport and ensuring fair competition for all," he added.
