Arita and Moseti claims Nyamira North 10km race titles

 

Men compete in Nyamira North 10km race on Sunday.

Stephen Arita  of Kenya Defence Forces and WinfridahMoseti  yesterday secured victories at  the Nyamira North 10km race.

Arita clocked 28:55.05 yo win the race beating favourite Enoch Onchari to second in 29:19:54 and Evans Mayaka came home third in 29:27.80. 

Barnabas Lemah finishing fourth in 29:27.90 while Felix Boera  closed the top five finishers in 29:35.60.

The race was the third one in the five Nyamira Great Run series with Onchari having won the first two editions.

The race with a huge number of athletes that disintegrated to a handful of a leading pack after the 2km mark.

Onchari and Arita then commanded the lead until the remaining 2km when Arita changed his gear breaking away to cut the tape for the victory.

Onchari who was a pacer at the Paris Marathon last month settled second.

In the women’s category, Moseti who recently finished fourth in Milan Marathon clocked 33:34.32 to win the race ahead of of Nancy Kerage who timed in 36:02.66 in second and Christine Oigo came third in 36:34.76.

Gladys Okero (37:48.18)  and  Doris Omari (38:52) finished fourth and fifth in that order.
